I've blocked those addresses now in the postfix config.

The issues I have with mailman are different but similar to the ones
with majordomo (although I don't doubt mailman is better implemented
than majordomo; that wouldn't be hard).  I want more than mailman can
offer either.  ezmlm has pretty much the desired functionality, but it
requires qmail and I need postfix to... ahem... support the inbred
scripting hooks I've sunk into it for other reasons ;-)

For now, I'm going to keep majordomo limping along here until I have
an afternoon or two to redo it correctly (which is mostly an issue of
sinking state hooks into the mail server itself, like ezmlm does, but
hopefully do a more portable job of it).
