It was on x86. This isn't a problem there.

As far as I could see, it was a build with correct headers and libraries
(I checked struct sizes in the disassembly).

I suspect ignored/unchecked error, probably in vorbisfile. That's where
I stopped debugging it (I don't know vorbisfile good enough, and have no
desire to, either).
