Okay, it looks like setting the length to 0x7fffffff produces the closest to
correct behavior in most programs you're likely to try.  It's a fringe case
anyway that only occurs if you stream the wav (use the raw driver instead) or
kill -9 the player (in which case you have bigger problems).  The patch does
fix things so that the header is written first and the correct sizes are
written last.
