Thanks!  It worked, though it didn't fix the problem.  At least I'm
compliant now.  I'm beginning to think concerns of CPU power and disk
access may have been valid, since it seems to increase the problem as I
increase the buffer size (and thus as it reads more from the disk). 
Anyone with a faster CPU than a 180 MHz 604e care to try?  No one's
downloaded this yet, I see.
