Someone emailed me... Broken link....! argh...!
I should have known... Yahoo's way of making money? Having many people subscribe to them. Then when someone builds a page which is giving too many hits or having too many downloads from there and thus using their bandwidth(??), just throw the files out and don't let them upload anything more. After all, what do investors see when they put money in the company? It's not how many downloads one file made but the number of users subscribed.

Anyway... Life's not perfect... I put up the files at:
www.freedrive.com
login: uploadspace100
pass: nopass

I'll also put the files on my small FTP just in case:
200.182.233.6
L/P: ogg/vorbis

Regards,
Machado, Bruno.

  Hi,

I am subscribed to this list, and have learned a lot just from the discussions i see although i don't reply to the msgs, simply coz i'm no big deal programmer.

I feel, though, that as i'm really optimistic about vorbis and want it to grow and start to have more and more people using it, i feel that i should warn you about a bug the encoder have (i'm sure monty receives loads of known bugs reports). I have posted a msg on the LAME dev board about 2 months or so, and gave the link to the sample. I didn't knew about this board yet :( ... And if i recall right, Monty said he grabbed the file and said it would be taken the proper attention.

I fear that he might have had too much samples to try out and might have disregarded this especifically one (??)... I have tested the encoder against A LOT of samples, and no other sample had anything as much noisy as this sample. I mean it. It reeeeally produces bad noises. My intent is to let everyone know what the sample is, and maybe someone will find out what the problem is.

  The sample's at: http://br.geocities.com/racaflabr/sweep.wav
  Here's a pic of sweep.wav: http://br.geocities.com/racaflabr/sweep1.jpg
  Here's a pic of sweep.ogg: http://br.geocities.com/racaflabr/sweep2.jpg

Oh btw; i still can hear noise in velvet.wav...

Other than that i still consider myself vorbis encoder really effective and it does better than LAME and fraunh in many samples i have here. I'm very optimistic about Ogg Vorbis Project ! Keep up the good work!!! ;)
