I raised a bug with ubuntu and am hoping that will eventually remove
the --disable-kate part from the build process. Might be good to test
what other distros do with Ogg videos that have kate tracks and raise
bugs, too, if vlc doesn't allow you to activate them.

I got some example multitrack files at
http://annodex.net/~silvia/itext/elephants_dream/multitrack/ if anyone
wants to test. (use the vat or avt ones - the others are multitrack
video or audio)
