Silvia makes a good assertion in her recent blog post: even if Google
frees VP8 to the world, it will take quite a few years until the
tools, libraries, spec and standardization issues are all cleared.

Until then Theora is here to kick butt, and the only thing a free VP8
would do is make Theora stronger as it would be another argument in
favor of implementations without worries about IP and patents.

So, let's focus on the present now.  Are you aware that Cristian Adams
just released the new Ogg DirecShow filters with basic support for
Theora in IE?  Can you imagine the impact this will have if we get
more support from other applications?  It's mainstream time, baby.
