BTW I never succeed to make WMP play an embed  video using the Xiph Dshow ?
Anybody ? I know Itheora tema did it ( http://itheora.org/?p=screens )

Detecting and using activeX techno to Install VLC & the activeX is a great
idea for IE. Also VLC has a great market share and the installer installs
the activeX by default. So generating a VLC control with javascript progress
slider is a great solution for IE.
