I find these things are mostly a matter of taste. I find Monty's style 
quite readable, even though it uses less whitespace than my preferred 
style.

You might investigate the 'indent' program. It's quite useful for 
reformatting according one's personal preferences.

P.S. During the early days of Enlightenment, rasterman and mandrake 
apparenlty had indent called automatically on cvs checkout because 
neither could stand the other's style.
