I'm up to it-- I have quite a bit of it written already. Do you
think I should post my present document on my codec site for comment, but
mark many of the sections as unfinished? It would certainly beat my
vp3-notes.txt file.
My ffmpeg VP3 implementation is going well. The 2 big items I am
working on are: 1) Porting the exact VP3 IDCT; 2) I was recently
introduced to something called "unrestricted motion vectors" and I need to
make those play nice with ffmpeg.

The only part of the original VP3 decoder that was ported over to
ffmpeg almost in its entirety was the DC prediction reversal code, mainly
because that really is the simplest way to do it. Everything, and I mean
everything, else was redone. If it wasn't used in the original VP3 source,
it didn't make it into the new decoder.
