[Speex-dev] Port to 24 bit DSP

Hello
I am going to port speex to a 24 bit DSP.
I am wondering whether any changes are needed. For example filter_mem16  in
fixed point mode i think that it would work fine in 24 bit.
Are there any rounding issues,because i cant see any.

Also i cant find documentation for the purpose of fir /iir filters
there.(newbie at digital filters) Why are there what we want to achieve
using these? Like filter_mem vs iir_mem fir_mem?
