[paranoia] problem reading from ide Pioneer dvd/rom M9.1

Found an accessible SCSI CDROM drive.

<p>This problem is recent.
My dvd/writer did work with both cdparanoia,cdda2wav and cdrdao.

The only thing I can remember changing since I last used cdparanoia
has been to run the k3b setup whizard and to upgrade my bios on
mobo K7T266 pro2 from v3.3 the original as supplied,
to MSI's updated v3.7.
Otherwise I'm at a loss to know what can have changed.
