[paranoia] can't rip from ide dvd-rom Pioneer 115 (not with atapi, not with scsi emu)

I'm having the same problem after upgrading to Red Hat Linux 7.3. I 
tried a lot (and has also asked on this list), and solved the problem by 
logging in as root. I guess some permissions have to bee set, but I 
don't know which. So try as root !
