Hello there folks,

I was wondering if someone may be able to point me in the right direction here.

I am trying to give some proper use to a new blade 1000 running solaris 8. Currently i use read_cdda to rip the tracks. when encoding to ogg, all i get is static. So i assum that the ripped tracks are not in a known oggenc format. (oggenc works as i can encode raw tracks ripped on a win32 box) I tried with the -r flag for raw... but still on avail. Do i need to use something like sox to convert the ripped tracks to something else first. I thought that a raw cd track was PCM data, which oggenc uses. Is there a better ripper for solaris than read_cdda. paranoia would be good?? hehe..

in the mean time, any help would be appreciated.

cheers,
Kerry.

1,0... my two bits.
