[paranoia] CD Drive keeps spinning up

I just recompiled a 2.4.16 kernel to use ise scsi emulation.
CD drives work fine, my internal zip drive doesn't (I don't know what
device it's now hiding under, it used to be /dev/hdd).
cdparanoia still acts the same, the drive just keeps spinning up.
