[paranoia] Another newbie question ...

Hi,
I tried to use cdparanoia with an ATAPI CDROM
(which reads audio cds fine with gtcd for instance)
and got the following message:
% cdparanoia -vQ

Checking /dev/cdrom for cdrom...
        Testing /dev/cdrom for cooked ioctl() interface
                Unable to open /dev/hdc: Wrong medium type
        Testing /dev/cdrom for SCSI interface
                /dev/cdrom is not a SCSI device

I tried 
1) changing audio cd .. does not work
2) changing permissions of /dev/hdc .. idem
3) put an iso9660 data cd just to see, and got 
Checking /dev/cdrom for cdrom...
        Testing /dev/cdrom for cooked ioctl() interface
                CDROM sensed: ATAPI compatible ATAPI CD-ROM DRIVE 40X
MAXIMUM

Verifying drive can read CDDA...

        Unable to read any data; drive probably not CDDA capable.
006: Could not read any data from drive

Cdparanoia could not find a way to read audio from this drive.

So it seems that it recognizes the drive at least as being an ATAPI
CDROM one.

Any idea ?
