OK, time to catch up on a month of mail....

Ah, the infamous HP 6020.

This drive has a bug where it can only extract roughly the first half of a 
disc well at default speed.  Setting the speed down fixes it up.  The -S 
option in cdparanoia only does ATAPI right now.  cdda2wav can probably set the 
speed successfully on this drive.
