Most of my problems (when USB works) had to do with the system almost locking
up when doing lots of USB transfers.  Given my keyboard and mouse
are also on USB, this could just be the USB bus locking up while
data gets flsuhed or something.

I'm transferring 79 files and it looks a lot better.  There are a few
hangs, but they're only a few seconds long as opposed to 30-45 seconds.
