It is far easier for us to really help people if we understand their
motivation.
Personally I've seen probably 70% of user questions for projects that
I'm involved in arrive at solutions that were different from the
original technical question setting. So while answering a question with
a question maybe doesn't feel very nice, I can understand why Marvin did
so. My answer would probably have been "Not really, but could you explain…"
In your case we'd probably suggest to address this possible use-case in
a different way. If you'd be interested in actually solving your issue
instead of an answer to one particular technical aspect that is.

No, we kindly ask you not to attempt to list streams that need
authentication of any kind. The directory is intended for freely
accessible streams.
Also we would prefer if people wouldn't list geo-blocked streams.
Currently there are a quite a few and we're working on addressing this.
