not quite, everything _could_ play it (subject to plugins) but mp3 is
patented tech, so distributors of linux and others have a cost of player
consideration (licensing is fun :-/).  Another consideration is
bandwidth used by mp3 at the server end.  So it may not be an issue for
your situation.
