There's no reason other software would be affected in any way.

For any supportable number of users, RAM usage remains low enough that
it won't be a concern for any modern system. CPU usage for small
numbers of users is hard to measure (it's near zero), and should only
be a concern if you're planning on at least a thousand simultaneous
clients (and probably a lot more!).
