You probably need a newer version of automake and/or autoconf.

Your cvs client is old and buggy. Either upgrade, or don't use -z
This won't have caused any problems with ices or icecast, though.

You should not be checking out the log/thread etc. modules directly anyway 
(they're checked out automatically by cvs along with the main application)
