Looks like that was the case - this is the first time I've seen this
message.

This must be an old document.  Both programs have been discontinued for
some time.  Ices is the recommended streamer for pre-encoded content, and
has been for a couple of years.

To clarify.  Are you saying that you can listen on the machine running the
server but not from anywhere else?

I understand that there are some issues with the yp.icecast.org server.
Ordinarily, all you'd have to do is specify that the stream is public and
that yp.icecast.org be a directory server and it would get listed.
