was: [icecast] what's happening here?

The list doesn't seem any more stagnant than the website ;-)

Seriously, the lack of current news on the website must have a turning-away effect for curious folks checking www.iccast.org out. There's a recent post from 18 days ago, but there was a "no news" dry spell between August 7 2001 and April 10 2002! During this time I signed up to the list, expecting to discover the project was in stasis (fortunately this is not true).

I could point out some other constructive feedback on the website, but I don't want to sound too critical and I don't know the situation here. Is there a webmaster, and does [s]he need help? For that matter, the website lacks a "help wanted" (available tasks) for those that want to contribute other than in coding & testing.

For the record, I haven't made a second attempt at installing any of the icecast software (it's been months). I stay subscribed because I'm interested, and I take a moment to note what kinds of problems people can have when installing, so I'll have an edge when I try again soon :)

In a nutshell, what are the plans for the website?

Cheers,

Scott Prive

Why is it that this list is so inactive? And what's with all the spam?

Is there another list that has more folks on it?

Wade
