[icecast] ices compile problem

Hmm  getting icecast setup is taking hours! Trying
to compile ice iceS and get the following
error, 

libtool: link: cannot find the
library'/usr/lib/libogg.la'
gmake[3]: *** [ices] Error 1

gmake[3]: Leaving directory
`/data/programs/ice2/ices-0.2.3/src'
gmake[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
gmake[2]: Leaving directory
`/data/programs/ice2/ices-0.2.3/src'
gmake[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
gmake[1]: Leaving directory
`/data/programs/ice2/ices-0.2.3'
gmake: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

So i went a looking for libogg.la don't see it,
went to ogg site and just got into a dependency
loop installing one rpm after another. I am on a
redat 7.3 machine.
