[icecast] Problems with ices+icecast combination

Hello folks,

I've been trying to set up a system where ices operates as
a source for icecast. Ices gets a connection to icecast and
says that it's playing a file. So everything is seemingly
fine.

However something's wrong because icecast sometimes gets
data from ices, sometimes not. When I say "sources" in icecast,
it always says that Song Length is -1.

Well, I can connect to the server with Winamp, but those
small green/red "lights" in Winamp (I don't know accurately what
do they indicate, but I hope Winamp dudes know what I mean :)
are blinking rapidly on/off so I guess the stream isn't "stable".

I do not use a re-encoder in ices so I think that CPU power isn't
the issue.

I hope you understood something. ;) Any ideas?
