Here is the loadavg while darkice is running:

cat /proc/loadavg
0.29 0.13 0.06 1/56 979

A one minute .wav file took 17 seconds to encode with the command 'lame 
myfile.wav'

OK, i changed the flag and ran make again.

Is there a log somewhere once the error occurs?
The segmentation fault is somewhat unpredictable, and it doesn't always 
happen.

BTW, I still need it to release /dev/dsp.
