[icecast] liveice problem

You shouldn't have to use liveice's mixer mode.  Just set SOUNDCARD and 
NO_MIXER, then use the "mixer" command (installed by default on my FreeBSD 
4.3 box) to select microphone as the recording input source.  The command 
line is like this:

mixer =rec mic

(I assume you've rebuilt the FreeBSD kernel so that you do have sound card 
support, and that you built the required device nodes as specified at
http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/sound.html ).
