[Icecast-dev] Streaming AAC with libshout?

Hi Marcin-
Understood.
Our market is primarily the professional broadcast/netcast market, where almost all professional audio playout systems are run on Windows these days.
With that said, your only choice will probably be to build libfaac into libshout. Unfortunately, as I said the quality will not be as good as it could be, which basically defeats the goal of AAC/HE-AAC.
That might be why it hasn’t been done yet, after over 10 years of being available.
FYI, MP3 uses ADTS frames, as does AAC/HE-AAC for ICY streaming. So it is very similar and should be very easy to add.

Hi Greg,
thank you for recommendation but my question is related to a different topic.
I would rather say that Orban should finally notice that selling standalone windows app is not a solution for everyone as it does not integrate well with SaaS solutions.
