Hi,

I am not a developer, but libshout is really to fascilitate streaming from 
a source to a server.  It does not necessarily know anything about the data 
being streamed, depending on the format.  The actual encoding or reencoding 
of the audio is really the job of the source client - libshout is simply 
what's used to deliver that encoded data to the server.
