[Flac-dev] upcoming FLAC 0.8

Just a heads up on what will be in FLAC 0.8 (probably in a week or so):

+ added PADDING and APPLICATION metadata blocks (APPLICATION is the
  block we were calling FREEFORM in a previous discussion)
+ new 'metaflac' FLAC metadata editor (currently only lists the blocks)
+ added -P option to flac to reserve PADDING block when encoding
+ added 24-bit support to flac (the FLAC format always supported it)
+ added 24-bit streams and a noise stream to the test suite
+ bug fixes (mostly found when encoding noise with extreme options)
+ improved lpc coeff quantizer, which also fixed a bug
- Winamp3 plugin (maybe)

(Stuff marked + is already done in CVS)
