Subject: mpeg-4 questions from a salon reporter...

hey guys, i'm trying to write a story about whether the new, expensive
MPEG-4 licenses will be a boon to open soruce codec development and i'm
hoping you or someone in the tarkin group can help. specifically, do you
think the licensing terms, which include a controversial $.02 per user
per hour fee, will turn some attention your way? will it inspire
developers and the market to take open soruce alternatives more
seriously? are there any signs that this is already happening?

...feel free to email or call, but if possible, do it soon. my deadline
is the end of the day tomorrow (sorry abou the short notice)

best,
