Perhaps this is something that could be launched by a new team of
volunteers. I'm sure you've got plenty on your plates already with
the codec itself!

Because of unauthorised music files? Perhaps, although I don't think
any search engine currently checks the copyright status of files
added to its index. Worth asking, eh?
