I did some more ABX testing of various samples of applause from some live
albums, and most of them suffer from the same problem that the usual
applause.wav sample has - a noticeable increase in a kind of crackly, hissy
background noise. The ones that didn't suffer from this where already quite
trebly, so the noise was masked. I can pick it out below q6 16/`16 at at q6
13/16. At q7 I can't hear it at all.
I expect I'll just stick to using 4.99 for most music and 7.0 for the live
albums I have.
