[vorbis] quality question?

Ok. Now I have a general feel for doing this. I'll probably re-encode from 
source it just takes a fair amount of time to rip an entire CD even at 40X. 
Then do the encoding of the wav files on top of that. Encoding the ogg on my 
system doesn't take very long it's just the ripping that's painfully slow. 

I was just hoping to shave some time. I've only just started to rip my entire 
CD collection so it's not that big of a deal to even just leave them -q9. 
I've tried -q8 with substantial space savings and no difference in quality 
that I can pick up.

I just hope a hardware manufacturer will pick up using ogg so I can use a 
player to take music on the road in large quantities (a la mp3/CD player). 
Anyone know of a manufacturer thats looking to pick this up?
