[vorbis] kde3 problem: missing libvorbisfile.la

Can't find this is any archives or faqs - sorry if it's been covered before.

I've been installing kde3 under FreeBSD 4.8-rc #31

libvorbis-1.0_1,3 seems to install perfectly, and shows up in pkg_info, but 
when I try to install kdemultimedia it says

libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/local/lib/libvorbisfile.la'

What's this? Why haven't I got it?
