And it's come up again. Maybe that's an indication that something needs
to be done?

And these people can still use -q10 if they really want to. I'm not
advocating to slide the scale down. Rather, I'm advocating that the
current 0-10 range be compressed (sic) into, say, 3-10 on the "new"
scale, and some new "genuinly low" quality setting be put into the
0-3 range.

If 90% of the people are finding transparency with -q3 (that's 90% of
"real" users, not just audophile ogg-faithfull), then most of the
quality range is for the benefit of the few. So, great for the golden
ears, but I'd rather that extra granularity be given to the masses.
