Your information is out of date.  The abrupt jump from lossy to lossless
stereo coupling occurred at -q 5 in 1.0rc3, but not in 1.0.  In Vorbis
1.0, there is a gradual transition to lossless stereo coupling, which
is complete at -q 6.
