I could do that also (I'm using KDE2.2:), but I don't get anywhere near the
control I need, because:
1. I don't want double-cds to have different directories for each disc.
2. I want my whole collection to be consistent and machineparsable so I can
change layout of the whole 100GB+ directory and/or put everything in a
database etc, in one go.
3. A song recorded in 1977 should have "1977" in the DATE-tag, not "1998"
because the Best Of-record was released then. But then I put the year of the
record in the directoryname of the album so I needed another tag (DISCDATE).
4. If I find that I have both "Nine-Inch Nails" and "Nine Inch Nails" I want
to be able to:
# w_settag "ARTIST=Nine Inch Nails" *
# w_fixdir *
and everything is fixed.
Anyone who think that I'm pedantic should see my apartment to see that I'm
NOT pedantic! :-)
Regards
