How about "does it work in my player"?
Windows media works on few platforms (windows, and maybe some on mac,
though the support lags behind). It can also be served (real-time) from
one, NT.
Realplayer can be served by more, and works in more.
But, at the end of the day, those technologies only work with the
specific players written for them.
Vorbis works in lots of players, and will soon also work in the big
ones. Mp3 works in those already.
There's really no good reason to choose Windows Media or Real unless
what your doing is video.
