When you say "exactly equivalent to L/R", does that mean
that this kind of joint-stereo will take "lossless" similarities
(like lossless encoders do) between L and R channel so
there's no even theoretical chance that this kind of joint
stereo will introduce artifacts?

Or is this something completely different?
