I have an audio CD player with SPDIF out (it was not very expensive). Do you
think I get error corrected data out of that? (I mean the error correction
the Macrovision technology relies on to allow people to listen to their CDs
on audio CD players.)

If yes, I could just plug the audio CD player to the SPDIF in of my
soundcard, and copy the CD at single speed without having to worry about this
stupid copy "protection".

*Send me all your Macrovision enhanced CDs and I'll copy them for you* :-)

No, this is too much work for me, but I think some hundred thousand people in
the world have this combination of hardware, so it's not too much work for
each of them. They will put those CDs on filesharing systems and a lot of
people who would normally buy a CD and encode it to Ogg to use it on their PC
and portable Ogg player will get their music from filesharing systems
_instead_ of buying a CD, because why should they buy a CD if they can't rip
it?
