MPEG1 Layer III supports frequencies of 32, 44.1 and 48 kHz, while
MPEG2 Layer III supports 16, 22.05 and 24 kHz. There is "unofficial"
Fraunhofer format, known as MPEG2.5 Layer III, which supports
frequencies 8, 11.025 and 12 kHz.
