That is an implementation issue for ogg123. I'm not against it.
But its not hard to retag an oggfile; how about an option to
ogg123 to just "show all tags", and otherwise it would use
the standard. Now, before 1.0 is released, is not the time to get hung
up on backward compatibility. We have to make sure this is sane and
nice before the huge rush of users comes flooding in.
If the ARTIST tag is found, I'd advocate printing a message pointing
the listener to the URL of the standard for tagging, and the manpage
for the program that retags ogg files.
