They're entirely different, I think, but fairly complementary. They seem to
be working on a cross-platform generic media interfacing library - sort of
like windows has, and quicktime has, but a) more general in a number of
ways, and b) cross platform. xiph.org is working mostly on the actual
codecs and so on, so they're both useful. That's my understanding, anyway.
