I beg to defer (though bedding might be good too if she's pretty), PSTN is
64kbit/sec *ULAW* in US and japan and *ALAW* elsewhere.
It's sampled at 8KHz in 16bits then transmitted as 8000 symbols/sec of
8bits each representing one input sample.
Lowbitrate voice for vorbis should be very interesting (internally vorbis
has much similarity to low bitrate voice-only codecs).
