Since I can't offer much in the way of Ambisonics lore, I have only
followed the topic briefly.  It's my understanding that someone
proposed this third alternative where an Ambisonic-only stream would
be encapsulated in Ogg, muxed alongside with some kind of audio
(Vorbis, PCM, whatever).  This way, supposedly, multichannel support
would be easier for players.
