Thus far, most (if not all) use of the encoder has been on PC-class systems 
(i.e. lots of memory and cpu), so quantifying this sort of thing hasn't (to 
my knowledge) been done - nobody has had any real reason to do it. 

If you do so, we would, of course, be very interested in any results you get.
