well here's my piece of fan mail..
GO FOR IT SEGHER :)))))))
seriously im not a programmer but im eficciency obsessed and I think
that everything wich improves lossless comprension now matter how small
(if optimization means small savings here and there then by all means
let the optimization begin :) (also i know that this is counter to
current dev policy for oggenc but could someone make a poll or something
to include double.pass and rehuff as an option on the reference oggenc
Also a question I've been sugested to ask segher, could you rehuff
optimization countermand the bloat created by garfs tunings (eg get garf
tuned quality files with the same filesize as the original ) from what
I've read i believe were talking about a percentual increase in bitrate
similar to the savings rehuff allows )
Also one last question but if this new algorithm is so promissing
couldn't a patent laywer(volunteers required IANAL ) start checking this
out for inclusion in vorbis proper maybe although this doesn't seem like
very orthodox behavior but xiph.org could help the creator of the
algorithm get some sort of open patent or gnu style patent or maybe a
regular patent and some arranjment similar to the one with on2 regarding
vp3 for theora :) (coments and sugestions anyone? )
oh btw a more general question how bad are the 1.0.1 compile errors for
windows right now? (any chance well get our ands on it before
christmas?? ;)P )

anyway thanks for all the work :)
