This turned out to be the cause of the website outage this morning. The 
tetex update pulled in perl 5.8, which broke some code in the 
greenwitch site. I installed enough new perl modules (major packaging 
reorg apparently) that apache would start again and upgraded a bunch of 
other stuff along the way including postfix. Hopefully that will be it.

There was also trouble with the list config, but if you're seeing this 
things should be working.
